Newera Screening is a physician-ordered laboratory biomarker panel. It does not diagnose cancer, does not detect all cancers, and is meant to be used alongside the routine screenings your doctor recommends. Markers can be raised by conditions unrelated to cancer, normal markers do not rule out cancer, and false positives and false negatives can occur. This test has not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Intended for adults 18 and older who do not have symptoms of cancer; if you have symptoms, see a doctor first. An independent physician reviews every order and may decline it. Rx only.

Testing performed by [Lab Name], an independent CLIA-certified, CAP-accredited laboratory. Every order is reviewed by an independent, state-licensed physician.

Our founder, Nathan Shalom, told his story to Business Insider. It is the reason we built Newera Screening.

Why this matters

Most cancer deaths come from cancers no one screens for.

Routine screening exists for a handful of cancers, and it saves lives. Keep every appointment your doctor recommends. The problem is everything those tests were never built to look at.

70%

of cancer deaths in the United States come from cancers with no recommended screening test

Most have no routine test at all
40%

of Americans, about 2 in 5, will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime

+79.1%

Newera Screening does not replace mammograms, colonoscopies, Pap tests or any screening your doctor recommends. It adds a look at cancer-related markers across 10 areas of the body, most of which have no routine screening test at all.

What the panel covers

One blood sample. Cancer-related markers across 10 areas at home, or 22 with a mobile draw.

A physician-ordered biomarker panel. It measures proteins and antigens that are associated with cancer in these areas of the body. Option 1 is collected at home and covers 10 areas. Option 2 is a comprehensive mobile phlebotomy draw covering 22 areas, including [lung, thyroid, neuroendocrine and plasma-cell]. It is not a 50-cancer scan, and it does not diagnose cancer.

A clinician on anything out of range

And we can send your report to your own doctor.

The biomarker measured for each area. Markers on your panel depend on your sex at birth; the Advanced mobile draw adds markers for 12 more areas.

Your report shows a value for each marker against its reference range, not a single yes or no for cancer. Markers are associated with these areas of the body. They are not proof that cancer is or is not present.

In range - This marker sits inside its reference range. That is reassuring, and it does not rule out cancer. Keep up with the routine screening your provider recommends.

Out of range - This marker sits above its reference range. A licensed clinician contacts you to review it. Markers rise for many reasons that have nothing to do with cancer, including benign growths, inflammation, infection, pregnancy, liver conditions and some medicines. An out-of-range marker is not a diagnosis, and confirming or ruling anything out takes follow-up ordered by a doctor.

Newera Screening is a physician-ordered laboratory biomarker panel. It does not diagnose cancer, it does not detect all cancers, and it is not a substitute for the routine cancer screening your healthcare provider recommends, such as colonoscopy, mammography, cervical screening or low-dose CT. Normal marker values do not rule out cancer and elevated values often have non-cancerous causes. False positive and false negative results do occur. Results should be interpreted by a healthcare provider. Rx only.

A multi-cancer early detection test that screens for a shared cancer signal across 50 or more cancer types is a different product and is not part of this panel.

Routine screening tests look directly for cancer and have the strongest evidence behind them. The panel measures markers associated with these areas; a marker is not a diagnosis and the panel does not replace them. Screening ages from U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommendations for adults at average risk; people at higher risk may be advised to screen differently.

*Results post about [7 to 10] days after the lab receives your sample. Newera Screening is a physician-ordered laboratory biomarker panel. It does not diagnose cancer, does not detect all cancers, and does not replace the routine cancer screening your doctor recommends. Markers can be elevated for reasons unrelated to cancer, and normal markers do not rule out cancer. False positive and false negative results can occur. This test has not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Rx only.

Is this a 50-cancer screening test?
No. This is a biomarker panel covering cancer-related markers across 10 areas: prostate, liver, testicular and germ-cell, ovarian, breast, colon and colorectal, pancreatic, bile-duct, gallbladder, and stomach. A multi-cancer early detection test that looks for a shared cancer signal across 50 or more cancer types is a different kind of product, and it is not what this panel does.
What does an out-of-range marker mean?
It means one value sat above its reference range, and it is a reason to look further, not a diagnosis. These markers rise for many reasons that have nothing to do with cancer, including benign growths, inflammation, infection, pregnancy, liver conditions and some medicines. A licensed clinician calls you to go through the result and what to discuss with your own doctor.
Which option should I pick?
At home is $149 plus shipping and covers all 10 areas from a sample you collect yourself. It is where most people start. The Advanced mobile phlebotomy draw is $369 all-in: a licensed phlebotomist comes to you for a venous draw, which lets the lab run markers a self-collected sample cannot support, across 22 areas.
Does a normal result mean I do not have cancer?
No. Markers inside their reference range are reassuring but they do not rule out cancer, and many cancers do not raise these markers at all, especially early on. This panel adds to the screening your doctor already recommends, such as colonoscopy, mammography, cervical screening and low-dose CT. It does not replace any of them.
Who is it for?
Adults 18 and older who do not have symptoms of cancer. It is not a test for a recurrence or for monitoring during treatment, and it is not offered during pregnancy because several markers change. If you have symptoms, see your doctor first. An independent physician reviews every order and may decline it, in which case you are refunded in full.
Do you sell or share my health data?
We do not sell your health data, and we do not hand it to advertisers, employers, or insurers. Your results are encrypted in transit and at rest, protected under HIPAA, and visible to you, the physician who ordered your test, and the laboratory that ran it. No one else unless you say so. Download your data anytime, or request deletion, subject to the record-keeping rules that apply to clinical labs.
Stage at diagnosis

Stage changes everything.

Five-year survival depends heavily on the stage at which a cancer is diagnosed. These are American Cancer Society population figures, not results from Newera Screening.

These are population figures, not Newera Screening results. Blood-based multi-cancer screening has not been shown to reduce cancer deaths, and it finds fewer cancers at early stages than at late stages. Newera Screening is one additional way to look for a cancer signal while you feel well, alongside the screenings your clinician already recommends.

Five-year relative survival by stage at diagnosis, [2015 to 2021] diagnoses, American Cancer Society, based on SEER data. Lung figures are for non-small cell lung cancer. Only about [14]% of pancreatic cancers are found while still localized. Localized means no sign the cancer has spread outside the organ where it started. Distant means it has spread to distant parts of the body. These figures describe outcomes by stage across the general population, for cancers found by every route and most often after symptoms appeared. They are not results from Newera Screening and do not predict any individual outcome. Whether screening with Newera Screening changes the stage at which a cancer is found, or lowers the chance of dying from cancer, has not been established. Newera Screening is a screening test. It does not diagnose cancer, does not detect all cancers, and does not replace the screenings your clinician recommends. A negative result does not rule out cancer, and false positives and false negatives can occur. Rx only.

FAQ

Straight answers.

Everything people ask before they order. Anything else, we are one email away.

How is this different from the screenings I already get?
Your mammogram, colonoscopy, cervical screening and low-dose CT look directly at one part of the body, and they remain the tests with the strongest evidence behind them. This is a blood panel that measures cancer-related markers linked to 10 areas: prostate, liver, testicular and germ-cell, ovarian, breast, colon and colorectal, pancreatic, bile-duct, gallbladder, and stomach. It is an additional data point you can collect at home, reviewed by a physician. It adds to the screenings your doctor recommends and does not replace any of them.
What does it do, and what does it not do?
It does: measure cancer-related markers associated with 10 areas of the body, show each value against its reference range, and put a licensed clinician on anything out of range. It does not: diagnose cancer, detect every cancer, tell you where a cancer is, or replace colonoscopy, mammograms, Pap tests, or any screening your doctor recommends. Markers inside their range do not rule out cancer. A marker above its range is not a diagnosis and often has a cause unrelated to cancer. False positives and false negatives do occur.
How accurate is it?
Accuracy is per marker, not one number for the whole panel, and your report names the performance figures for each one. Two things are true of this class of test and you should know both. Many cancers, especially early ones, do not raise these markers at all, so an in-range result never rules cancer out. And these markers are raised by plenty of conditions that are not cancer, so most people with an out-of-range value turn out not to have cancer. That is why a clinician reviews anything out of range and why your routine screenings still matter. Per-marker sensitivity and specificity: [to be published from the lab validation data].
Who should take it?
Adults 18 and older who do not have symptoms of cancer. It is not a test for a recurrence or for monitoring during treatment, and it is not offered during pregnancy because several markers change. If you have symptoms, see your doctor first. An independent physician reviews every order and may decline it, in which case you are refunded in full.
What happens if a marker is out of range?
You will not find out from an email. A licensed clinician from our [independent physician network] calls you, walks through the value, and explains what comes next, which is follow-up through your own doctor. With your permission we send the report to your physician, and we help you find one if you do not have one. An out-of-range marker is not a diagnosis. These markers rise for many reasons that are not cancer, including benign growths, inflammation, infection, pregnancy, liver conditions and some medicines, so most people with one are found not to have cancer. Follow-up can involve imaging or other testing and can take several weeks.
Is my health information private?
Yes. Newera Screening treats your results as protected health information. Your sample travels by barcode, not by name, through a verified chain of custody. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We never sell your health data and never share it with advertisers, employers, or insurers. Results go to you, the physician who ordered your test, and the lab that ran it, and no one else unless you say so. You can close your account and request deletion of your personal data at any time, subject to the record-keeping rules that apply to clinical labs.
What does it cost, and can I get a refund?
Buy once, or become a member. Membership is billed yearly, renews automatically until you cancel, and covers one or two tests a year; you can cancel online anytime. At home is $149 plus shipping, about $160 all-in. The Advanced mobile phlebotomy draw is $369 all-in. An unactivated kit returned within [30] days of delivery gets a full refund. Once your sample reaches the lab the test has been run and cannot be refunded. Scheduled repeat testing is [in development and not yet priced].
Can I pay with my HSA or FSA, or over time?
Yes. We accept HSA and FSA cards at checkout and email an itemized receipt. Physician-ordered lab testing is generally a qualified medical expense under IRS rules, but your plan administrator has the final say, so check with them if you are unsure. You can also pay over time: Klarna splits a one-time purchase into 4 interest-free payments, and Affirm offers monthly payments, both subject to an eligibility check. Affirm is not available on memberships. Newera Screening is not covered by insurance. See payment options and disclosures.
How long do results take?
About [7 to 10] days from the day your sample arrives at the lab. Return shipping is prepaid, and most samples reach us in [1 to 2] business days. If no signal is detected, you get a text and an email when your report is ready in your private dashboard. If a signal is detected, your report is held until a licensed clinician has called you to go over it, usually within [1 business day] of the result.
Is it available in my state?
Newera Screening ships to [47] states. Because every test is ordered by a licensed physician, it is available in states that require a provider order, including [New Jersey and Rhode Island]. It is not yet available in [New York, X, and Y], where our lab permits are pending. Enter your ZIP code at checkout to confirm.
